CHANGEmakers: John Cena

DoSomething.org honored John Cena by placing him in the Top 20 Celebs Gone Good for 2016, and awarded him the #2 spot in 2015 for the Athletes Gone Good.

The WWE Superstar starred in the powerful Ad Council’s “We Are America” video for the Love Has No Labels campaign– which you can watch here.

John is a strong supporter of Susan G. Komen. He’s been heading their campaigns since 2012 and helping the WWE support Susan G. Komen by releasing special pink WWE Merchandise as well as turning the ring ropes pink.

In 2016 John, to raise money for the American Cancer Society, participated in Atlanta Airport’s 7th Annual Jet Drag – he and his team pulled a 167,000 pound airplane 20ft. The event raised over $100,000 for the American Cancer Society.

There is one thing John Cena might be known for even more than wrestling – granting wishes. He’s granted over 500 Make-A-Wish wishes around the world, earning the title for most wishes granted by a single person. In fact, the WWE celebrated his 500th Wish by making a video of some of the kids he met and interviews of their parents. (If you want to watch the video – here – make sure you have tissues handy.)
